LA PURIFICACIÓN DE MARIA Y PRESENTACIÓN DEL SEÑOR

¿Qué anhelas y por qué oras? Todos traemos deseos y necesidades profundas ante Dios, con la esperanza de intervenir en las relaciones, la salud, la provisión, el propósito, la pertenencia, el perdón o incluso la justicia. Pensemos en el anhelo de Ana de tener un hijo. (1 Samuel 1:21-28.) Año tras año, ella oraba, aferrándose a la promesa de su nombre, "Dios Responde". La duda puede surgir durante las largas esperas: ¿Escucha Dios? ¿Le importa? Sin embargo, Dios respondió a Ana, dándole un hijo, Samuel, que significa "Dios escuchó", un testimonio de Su fidelidad.
¿Cómo sabes que Dios escucha y se preocupa? Jesús es la respuesta. Su encarnación y nacimiento son el "Sí" de Dios a nuestras oraciones (2 Corintios 1:20), respondiendo a nuestro anhelo de salvación, relación y esperanza. La donación encarnada de Jesús es un acto radical de amor; Dios entró en nuestro mundo, compartió nuestro dolor y se sometió a morir por nuestros pecados. Simeón, esperando la "consolación de Israel" (Lucas 2:25), reconoció al niño Jesús como la oración contestada, el Mesías, a través del Espíritu Santo. A través de Jesús, obtenemos la seguridad de que Dios nos escucha. Él no es solo la prueba del favor de Dios, sino que Él mismo es la respuesta a cada oración.
Cuando oras por tus preocupaciones, Dios responde en Jesús: tu Proveedor y Protector (Mateo 6:25-34). En la soledad, Él te lleva a la Iglesia, a una familia y al Cuerpo de Cristo (Efesios 2:19). En la enfermedad, Él ofrece sanidad y plenitud en Jesús (Juan 11:25). En injusticia, Él promete juicio y Su reino justo con Cristo como rey (Apocalipsis 21:4). En el dolor, Él ofrece consuelo en Jesús (2 Corintios 1:3-4). En la culpa, Él ofrece el perdón (1 Juan 1:9). Dios dio a Jesús como la respuesta definitiva a los gritos de la humanidad; Su vida, muerte y resurrección responden a todas nuestras necesidades. Simeón, al ver a Jesús, la oración contestada, alabó a Dios (Lucas 2:29-32), cantando: "Oré, Dios oyó, yo vi". ¡Este es también nuestro testimonio! También podemos declarar con confianza: "Oré" (llevando las necesidades a Dios), "Dios escuchó" (Él escucha y se preocupa), "Yo vi" (Su respuesta en Jesús para nuestras vidas y el mundo).
Si esto es así, querida Ana (חַנָּה Dios responde), ¡entonces nada debería impedirte orar con todo tu corazón! ¡Dios te escucha (שְׁמוּאֵל Samuel) y responde con Jesús!

What are you longing and praying for? We all bring deep desires and needs before God, hoping for intervention in relationships, health, provision, purpose, belonging, forgiveness, or even justice.
Consider Hannah's longing for a child. (1 Samuel 1:21–28) Year after year, she prayed, clinging to the promise of her name, "God Answers." Doubt can arise during long waits: Does God hear? Does He care? Yet, God answered Hannah, giving her a son, Samuel, meaning "God heard," a testament to His faithfulness.
How do you know God hears and cares? Jesus is the answer. His incarnation and birth are God's "Yes" to our prayers (2 Corinthians 1:20), responding to our longing for salvation, relationship, and hope. Jesus' incarnational self-donation is a radical act of love; God entered our world, shared our pain, and subjected Himself to die for our sins. Simeon, awaiting the "consolation of Israel" (Luke 2:25), recognized baby Jesus as the answered prayer, the Messiah, through the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus, we gain assurance God hears us. He is not just proof of God’s favor but is Himself the answer to every prayer.
When you pray about your worries, God answers in Jesus: your Provider and Protector (Matthew 6:25-34). In loneliness, He brings you into the Church, a family and the Body of Christ (Ephesians 2:19). In illness, He offers healing and wholeness in Jesus (John 11:25). In injustice, He promises judgment and His righteous kingdom with Christ as king (Revelation 21:4). In sorrow, He offers comfort in Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). In guilt, He offers forgiveness (1 John 1:9). God gave Jesus as the ultimate response to humanity's cries; His life, death, and resurrection answer our every need.
Simeon, seeing Jesus, the answered prayer, praised God (Luke 2:29-32), singing, "I prayed, God heard, I saw." This is our testimony too! We may also confidently declare: "I prayed," (bringing needs to God), "God heard," (He listens and cares), "I saw," (His answer in Jesus for our lives and world).
If this is so, dear Hannah ((חַנָּה God answers), then nothing ought to prevent you from praying with your whole heart! God hears you (שְׁמוּאֵל Samuel) and answers with Jesus! (יְהוֹשׁוּעַ God saves!)
